The Vice President of Colombia, Marta Lucía Ramírez, will be the new Minister of Foreign Affairs

(CNN Spanish) – The president of Colombia, Iván Duque, reported that the new Foreign Minister will be Martaa Lucía Ramírez, his current vice president.

Ramírez will perform the dual role and will be in charge, according to Duque, of “carrying out all migration policy, strengthening ties in security and defense, but also opening new borders for Colombia.

Ramírez assumes the portfolio days after the resignation of Claudia Blum.
