WATFORD – The management of the English football club FC Watford has reached an agreement with the Italian coach Claudio Ranieri. The 62-year-old coach signed a two-year contract on Monday to replace Xisco Muñoz.

The Spaniard lasted only seven laps on the bench and became the first dismissed coach this season in the Premier League. Watford also lost to Slovak midfielder Juraj Kuck in the line-up on Saturday at Leeds 0: 1. “The Hornets” dropped to 14th place in the table after scoring two victories, one draw and four losses in seven games.

Forty-one-year-old Muñoz has been leading Watford since December 2020. In the previous season, he had won the club’s return to the top competition. Ranieri worked for two years in Sampdoria Genoa, where he finished in the summer. He achieved sensational success in England in 2016, when he led to the title of Leicester City.
