Alexeï Navalny also spoke about the political situation in Russia and in particular on the power in place. “Putin’s regime is an accident of history, it is not inevitable”, he writes, believing that the appointment in 1999 of Vladimir Putin, then Prime Minister, as interim president by Boris Yeltsin, had been a “fault” that will be repaired. For him, Russia will join sooner or later “a way of democratic and European development”, being convinced that “that’s what the people want”.
