WhatsApp will allow you to react to messages in conversations – Frandroid

Reacting to a message sent to major messaging applications has been possible for years. WhatsApp, which does not yet allow it, is therefore an exception at this level, but that would be about to change. There is a hint that the app is on the way to adopting message reactions in its conversations.

Reactions to messages seem about to materialize in our conversations WhatsApp. At least that’s what an automatic message seen by the blog suggests. WAbetainfo. The latter suggests updating the application to see the reaction sent by a correspondent. As a reminder, reactions are very easy to attach an emoji to a message received on a messaging application. A function offered for years on most competing services of WhatsApp, including Instagram, Twitter, Signal, Slack, or Messenger.

For now, WhatsApp only allows users to quote a message and then send an emoji immediately afterwards as a reaction, but this technique lacks flexibility. Allowing reactions to be added directly to messages (presumably by means of a sustained click on them) would allow WhatsApp to improve its experience in conversations, while catching up with the competition.

The reactions to the messages seem to arrive on WhatsApp… but when?

According to WAbetainfo, this novelty could arrive on WhatsApp through an upcoming update for beta testers, but XDA Developers for its part notes that this feature seems to be still at a preliminary stage of its development. It is difficult under these conditions to know when it could be deployed on a large scale, among all messaging users. Logically it will not be for now. It is also unclear what exact form it will take in conversations.

Note that this is not the first time that WhatsApp has wanted to add to its service a feature that is widespread among its competitors. Recently, the platform for example deployed the possibility of sending ephemeral photos and videos. A function that has been used for a long time on Snapchat or even Instagram.
