Sulík estimates how much people will pay for electricity. We are trying to dampen price increases, claims – PRAVDA.sk

The price of electricity for households will increase by about one and a half cents per kilowatt hour (kWh). This was stated after Wednesday’s government meeting by the Minister of Economy Richard Sulík (SaS), stating that this is his personal preliminary estimate, not the price set by the Office for the Regulation of Network Industries (ÚRSO).

“We are trying to dampen price increases as much as possible. However, we cannot fully capture it. We try to catch this by compensating for the increase in the power component by a decrease in fees, but it is not possible at all. Therefore, unfortunately, the price of energy will be increased for some time. It is based on 1.5 to 1.7 cents per kWh. However, I hope that the prices of power electricity will start to fall. Electricity prices have risen in recent months because the prices of emission permits have risen, “he explained.

He also reminded that energy prices, ie what people pay, consist of two components. “One component, the smaller one, is the price for the commodity, for the electricity itself. This is market, it is determined by the market. The greater part of the price is the price for distribution, which is determined by us. The price for distribution does not increase. The price for energy is rising, the so-called force component, “he added.
