HEALTH PASS – Show white tab or colored strap. The Europa Park theme park, located in Germany, has been the subject of controversy in recent days by requiring the wearing of bracelets of different colors according to the vaccination status of visitors. This including for children.
As reported by our colleagues from International mailquoting the german media Die welt, Germany has implemented the 3G rule, “geimpft, getestet, oder genesen”, which is the Germanic equivalent of our health pass (vaccination, test or remission) to be able to go to a place open to the public.
This being the case of Europa Park, the management has set up a system to identify visitors: a white bracelet for the vaccinated and those who have recovered from the Covid. and colored bracelets for those who have a test. Thus, each visitor could read the immunization status of each one by glancing at the wrist. A certain invasion of the privacy of visitors. In addition, even children from the age of 6, had to wear a bracelet to certify their vaccination status.
“A solution as practical and clear as possible”
Faced with the outcry caused by such a device, the park decided to go back and standardize the color of the bracelets which are therefore, since August 19, all white.
To enter the park, unvaccinated visitors must present an antigen test of less than 24 hours or a PCR test of less than 28 hours. Thus, someone who will stay several days in the park will have to be tested daily.
“It was simply a question of finding a solution as practical and clear as possible”, defended the spokesperson of the park to Die welt. Practical, but not smart.
In France, a similar device was tested in Gironde before finally being suspended 24 hours later, on August 19, in order to “clarify the contours of the operation”.
