Ukraine lost its aviation ace: Details of his death are not known – Topky.sk

Lystopad was one of the most famous Ukrainian military pilots. The captain would have turned 31 on August 17. Last year, for example, he flew at the head of a ceremonial formation over the center of Kyiv. At that time, Ukraine was celebrating 30 years of independence. The number of his military successes does not end there. In 2019, he won the award as the best pilot. This year, President Volodymyr Zelensky presented him with the Order of the Hero of the Third Degree. Even before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Lystopad took part in combat operations against separatists in Donbass. He made no secret of the fact that he would one day like to fly on an American F-16 fighter jet. The place, circumstances and time of his death are still unknown. Russian media speculate that he could have fallen in battle, but he could also have died in a Russian attack on some airport.
