(CNN Spanish) – Have you not noticed? It’s everywhere: the little white dress is the new equivalent of what “fashionistas” call The Little Black Dress.

Those very chic little black dresses, which have always been favorites of women famous for their personal style. And who can forget the image of Audrey Hepburn, with her divine little black dresses, designed by Hubert de Givenchy for the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, accompanied by many pearls from the famous jewelry.

But now we have the little white dress –short, long, mini style, with a romantic air as well as ethnic ones, embroidered, in semitransparent gauze, very beachy, with ruffles or with a plain and minimalist style–, it’s the boss! I love it and it is a really free and charming look in the hot months.

If we look in the history books, we see that some queens and princesses of antiquity frequently wore white dresses to further highlight their fabulous jewels and diamond headbands. It was impressive!

It is that the white dress has traditionally been a symbol of greatness as well as purity – like the first communion or wedding dress! And those symbols in clothing are always beautiful. And today, a white model can be just as impressive – and project a glamorous and sexy image, as well as very feminine and even naive! – Whichever you like the most!

This year the famous ones – especially the youngest ones – began to use an infinity of them. Sienna Miller and Kate Moss take them in London, Paris and New York. Just like Sharon Stone at the Cannes Film Festival. She wears them whenever she can Jennifer Lopez (even style shorts!) –As well as celebrities very up to date with the latest in fashion, such as model Gisele Bündchen, Penelope Cruz, Angelina Jolie, Kate Hudson, Victoria Beckham, Renée Zellweger, Nicky and Paris Hilton, Eva Mendes and other celebrities. And designers as diverse as Chloé, Chanel, Azzaro, Narciso Rodríguez, Dior, Gucci, Armani, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Marc Jacobs, Valentino and YSL, have presented them in styles for any occasion, both long and short, ideal for a cocktail party Or a fancy dinner party, and popular stores like Gap, H&M and Zara have put up windows 100% full of white blouses and pants!

Reasons to wear those cute little white dresses? They look feminine, very fresh, brighten the face, rejuvenate – and project a radiant and happy image. And although it is not a practical piece, as it stains easily, the little white dress – according to the designer Stella McCartney – “is an ‘optimistic’ and beautiful piece of clothing that makes us feel super good.”

We agree!
