Angela Merkel will take a pension of around 15,000 euros a month once she leaves the Chancellery, after the September elections. The calculation was carried out by the Association of German Taxpayers, taking into account for the 67-year-old Merkel the many years she spent as a parliamentarian, as a federal minister and as a chancellor. Like all former German chancellors and presidents, Merkel will be entitled to an office when she leaves her post, as well as a chief of staff, two assistants, a stenographer and a driver.
