FP3: Max Verstappen takes the lead ahead of qualifying – f1only.fr

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen set the fastest time in the third and final free practice session of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in 1.28.100 (Soft). The Dutchman is ahead of Lewis Hamilton by two tenths (Tender) and Red Bull by Sergio Perez by five tenths (Tender).

Behind, Yuki Tsunoda (+0.541), Pierre Gasly (+0.615), Valtteri Bottas (+ 0.919), Charles Leclerc (+1.001), Carlos Sainz (+1.049), Esteban Ocon (+1.077) and Lando Norris (+1.200) complete the top ten of this last free practice session of the weekend. It is good to note that Lewis Hamilton did not try to beat the time of Max Verstappen with his Soft tires, the Mercedes driver seemed to be on the reserve…

Leclerc retains its chassis and engine

After his big crash this Friday evening in FP2, Charles Leclerc received the green light from the doctors for the rest of the weekend, while Ferrari confirmed that the Monegasque will be able to participate in qualifying and the race with the chassis and engine that ‘he was using in free practice on Friday.

No risk before qualifying

Obviously, the drivers did not want to take the slightest risk before qualifying on a super fast street circuit where the slightest mistake can be very expensive. The walls are very close to the edges of the track in Jeddah and it would be unfortunate to crash a single-seater two hours before the very important qualifying session.
