PRAGUE. There were 4262 new cases of the disease in the Czech Republic on Monday coronavirus, which represents a significant increase (by 1733) compared to the data a week ago. However, this is a similarly high number as they recorded in the Czech Republic on Friday, when the border of more than 4,000 infected people was also exceeded in the country.

The news portal ČT24 informed about it on Tuesday.

For the first time since May, more than 1,000 patients with covid have been in hospitals. 1,055 people are hospitalized, 156 of whom are in difficult condition (14 more than the day before). In the past day, 135 more people had to be taken to hospital in connection with the infection.

Last year, there were more than 1,000 patients with covid in Czech hospitals at the end of September – and when the autumn wave of the pandemic culminated, more than 8,000 covid patients were in the care of doctors in hospitals.

At the beginning of March this year, more than 9,000 people were hospitalized, reminds ČT24. At that time, however, hospitals restricted the treatment of other patients and placed people infected with covid in other wards.

The so-called the incidence number (number of new infections in seven days per 100,000 population) increased to 217, increasing by 16 per week.

From Monday, stricter measures began to apply in the Czech Republic. After the new one, it is necessary to wear respirators in all indoor areas, including workplaces, if it is not possible to maintain distances of at least 1.5 meters.
