Covid today Bulgaria, bulletin with record contagions and deaths

New record of infections and deaths from covid today in Bulgaria, the EU country with the lowest percentage of the vaccinated population struggling with the fourth wave of coronavirus. According to the bulletin reported by the local media, in the last 24 hours there have been 5,863 new cases and 243 deaths. According to the official toll, there have been 23,316 victims in Bulgaria since the beginning of the pandemic. Faced with the increase in infections and the low adherence to the vaccination campaign, the authorities have made the green pass mandatory to access most of the public places indoors. The new restrictions sparked protests and some political parties accused the interim government of failing to manage the pandemic. The government, for its part, has not ruled out stricter measures if the pressure on the hospital system does not decrease. At the moment, more than 7,100 people are hospitalized in Covid wards, of which 608 in intensive care. The data showed that more than 90% of patients are not vaccinated. Parliamentary elections are scheduled for November 14 in Bulgaria.
