An order book growing by over 20%, a stable shipbuilding sales network market and an expectation of an increase in turnover, thanks also to the continuous push of exports which confirms the leadership of nautical Made in Italy in the world: this is confirmed respectively 40%, 66% and 96% of the interviewees in the data collected by the Confindustria Nautica research office, processed on a sample of companies in the sector and presented today in Sanremo (IM), during the conference ‘New routes for la Nautica ‘, organized as part of the Satec 2021 Convention. The nautical companies thus recorded a positive trend in all sectors, despite the slowdown in the markets due to the Covid-19 pandemic. “The excellent feedback recorded both on the closure of 2020 and on 2021 signal that boating is going through a good moment – commented Saverio Cecchi, president of Confindustria nautica – and for this reason the sector is a legitimate candidate to drive the restart of the country, ahead on new routes “. Numbers on the rise also for the components segment (accessories and engines), with an increase between 10 and 20% according to 39% of the interviewees. The services, charter and tourist ports sector in turn recorded a significant increase in the volume of business (between 10 and 20% for 45% of the interviewees), also supported by a significant return of bookings by foreign yachtsmen, mostly Europeans. The final data of the sector for the year 2020 will be presented on September 16 at the 61st Genoa Boat Show, as part of the round table ‘Boating Economic Forecast’.
