In the past few days, 65 to 73 patients with COVID-19 were hospitalized in this hospital. “Reprofilized beds have been filled so much over the past few days that we have had to set aside another workplace for them. We admit five to ten patients a day to hospital. So far, we have 103 covid beds, which are 65 percent full.” said Ján Slávik, General Director of UNLP Košice. Eight patients are in critical condition connected to artificial lung ventilation, 14 need non-invasive ventilation, high-flow oxygen. Of the hospitalized patients with COVID-19, 92 percent are not vaccinated. Regarding the number of deaths in September, Slavik said that many could have been prevented if patients had been vaccinated against the disease.

In connection with the increase in the number of patients, the hospital closed part of the Neurology Department at the workplace on Rastislavova Street. “We have set aside another 22 beds at the clinic for the treatment of covid patients. Two of them will be used for patients with COVID-19 who are also having a stroke. For psychiatric patients with covid, we have set aside beds at the 2nd psychiatric clinic,” specified by the executive director of the hospital for medical and preventive care Ľuboslav Beňa.

With the transition to the second level of threat according to the COVID automaton, which corresponds to the burgundy color, they also adjusted the triad of patients from Monday. In addition to the standard measurement of the body temperature of entrants, authorized staff ask if they have not ordered quarantine measures and are not tested positive for COVID-19. They also check whose patients are vaccinated, resp. tested, or they are agreed by telephone with the relevant ambulance on a special procedure. This means that they will be tested before the treatment itself.

Trenčín was partially limited by some planned operations

Visits to the hospital have been in place since 7 September due to the worsening epidemiological situation. According to the National Center for Health Information, 36 patients with COVID-19 were hospitalized at the Trenčín University Hospital on Sunday (October 3), five of whom were on artificial lung ventilation.

The hospital in Prešov has occupied most beds for patients with COVID-19

The JA Reimana University Hospital with Polyclinic (FNsP) in Prešov has occupied most of the 40 beds set aside for patients with COVID-19. According to the director of the hospital, Ľubomír Šarník, 36 patients with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized in the infectious diseases department and the other three require artificial lung ventilation (IPO).

At the University Hospital with a polyclinic (FNsP) in Žilina, a crisis staff was convened on Monday in connection with a critical deterioration of the situation and the development of the health status of patients with COVID-19. Currently, 38 people are hospitalized in the covid pavilion, nine people are required to be connected to artificial lung ventilation, eight of whom are in critical condition. Hospital spokeswoman Lenka Záteková informed about it.

She added that the number of patients admitted with COVID-19 had started to rise more significantly over the past week. “We have admitted 17 new patients since Friday. Three-quarters of the total number of hospitalized patients are unvaccinated. Vaccinated patients who require hospitalization are in all cases seriously ill with other comorbid conditions. Predominantly cancer patients or have serious cardiac problems,” said a hospital spokeswoman.
