Windows Update will tell if the PC can run Windows 11 – Update – Generation NT

Update : Microsoft has confirmed that Windows Update will notify the availability of Windows 11 for an eligible device.

Windows Insiders currently have the option to test pre-versions of Windows 10 21H2 (Release Preview). In addition to the availability of updates, Windows Update now informs them if their PC is able to run Windows 11 in the sense that it meets the minimum requirement.

Spotted by Windows Latest, the message also states that not all Windows 10 features are available in Windows 11. A point that was already known. In particular, a list of Windows 10 items and features that will be removed or obsolete in Windows 11 has been posted here.

Still for Windows Insiders, we should also remember that Microsoft has put its tool back online PC Health Check in order to check compatibility with Windows 11. It is an improved version which informs about the validated points… or which block.

The amended version of PC Health Check is expected to be available for all Windows users in the coming weeks.
