A soldier of the Guardia Civil saves a baby at sea. It is the symbolic image of the crisis that the Spanish enclave of Ceuta is experiencing, in the days when thousands of people from Morocco try to reach Spain. In the Spanish media Juan Francisco, agent of the Special Underwater Activities Group of the Civil Guard (GEAS), told not only the harshness of that image but also the terrible situation that is being experienced in Ceuta. “We took the baby, he was frozen, cold, he didn’t move …” he said, explaining that the mother carried the baby on her back like many other parents do. “It was traumatic”, he assured. Posted on Twitter, the photo in a very short time received thousands of likes and hundreds of comments. “The Civil Guard of #GEAS and #ARS saves the lives of dozens of minors who have come to #Ceuta by sea with their families”, reads the post.
