Even though they considered him conflicted, they were shocked by what he did. After the school declared that it did not know about the attacker’s manifestations of aggression and intolerance, one of the classmates wrote to us, according to which it was known about his radical views. He often watched videos and photos of people being killed or tortured and laughed at them. He had extremist remarks about Jews, gays and racial minorities, which he always covered up from others as humor. According to the school management, he did not show his radical attitudes even during classes. They refused to answer the question whether a psychologist worked with him. Juraj left this school five years ago. The morning after the attack, the former classmates were guarded by the police there. Current classmates and their parents consulted on the crisis helpline on the fateful night. After the heinous act, he threatened to come to the school and kill them. Police classmates helped, they said they felt a sense of guilt for knowing what he was writing on social networks. Experts from the crisis line tried to contact Juraj. “When he started the livestream on that streaming service, we knew that this was his final stage of the story and we already saw the human fear there. But we also saw the mask and the determination with which he constantly repeated the phrases from his statement,” says psychologist Marek Madro from the IPčko helpline.
