Lens pushes Monaco down to Louis-II! – Debrief and NOTES of the players (Monaco 0-2 Lens) – Maxifoot

Lens suffered at the end of the match, but Lens held firm against Monaco (2-0) this Saturday Louis-II, within the framework of the 3rd day of Ligue 1. New underperformance for the Mongasques, however in numerical superiority during almost half an hour of play …

Ganago opened the scoring early in the second half.

Monaco begins to worry. Authors of a more than delicate start to the season in Ligue 1, the players of the princely club had a new underperformance against Lens (0-2) this Saturday, as part of the third day of Ligue 1, despite their numerical superiority for almost half an hour of play in the second period.

No doubt tired, just four days after their defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk (0-1) in the first leg of the Champions League, the Mongasques will quickly have to raise their heads.

Pavlovic at the bottom of the hole …

With only one small point taken in the first two league games, Niko Kovac’s men sought to make the difference between them, but they came up against the impermeable northern bloc. Ben Yedder could have shaken Leca after ten minutes of play, but Medina followed well to relieve his camp. Then the Sang et Or took the game their account, and they missed the opening of the scoring by a few centimeters!

On a bad pass behind Pavlovic, Nbel saw his relief – controlled by Sotoca – land on the head of Ganago at twenty meters, whose instant recovery brushed against the post! A first warning followed by a second. But the referee this time saved Pavlovic by whistling a little obvious foul from Sotoca, following a new missed raise from the Serbian international, decidedly not in a big day. And he proved it once again when he got back from the locker room …

Doucour sees red, Lens is holding on!

Five minutes after the restart, Ganago effectively took advantage of a huge error of appreciation by the Mongolian defender to present himself against Nbel, and his shot from a tight angle visibly surprised the goalkeeper loaned by Bayern, author of a big foul of hand (0-1, 51st)! Enough to ignite Louis-II, where many Lensois supporters made the trip. But the party was short lived, since Doucour saw red ten minutes later after a tough tackle on Diatta’s ankle!

Monaco has logically regained control of leather, and launched the assault on the northern surface. And despite the incessant waves of opponents, Leca and his defense held their own, while the red card received by Golovin five minutes from the end of the day definitely put an end to the hopes of the locals. And at the end of the end, Banza even offered himself the luxury of doubling the bet by finding himself the conclusion of a perfect counter-attack (0-2, 90th)! First victory for the Sang et Or this season, while the ASM is still waiting …

The score of the match: 6.5 / 10

If the first period is due, the second has kept all its promises. With more action, suspense and twists, whether through the goal of Ganago or the red cards received by Doucour and Golovin. Add that an atmosphere for once livened up Louis-II thanks to the northern supporters… and you get a more than honorable rating.

The goals :

– Clauss launches Ganago right. Pavlovic is ahead, but the central defender takes no interest in the ball and leaves it to the attacker, whose strike at a closed angle visibly surprised Nbel, author of a big hand fault (0-1, 51st)!

– At the end of the match, Frankowski steals the ball from Caio Henrique and is alone in the box. At the last moment, he ended up deflecting Banza, who finished point blank (0-2, 90th)!

Player NOTES

Maxifoot has awarded a score (out of 10) comments on each player.

Man of the match: Kevin Danso (7/10)

A first back pass was missed, which also put Leca in danger, then a faultless behind. Present on all trajectories, Danso has disgusted the Mongascian attackers and especially poor Ben Yedder, far too lonely at the forefront. The central defender from Lens, could not be more reassuring for his teammates, also saved his team just before the break thanks to a superb return to Diop’s feet. And when his team suffered the endless waves of adversity following Doucour’s red card, Danso responded now!

MONACO :

Alexander Nbel (3): decidedly, the goalkeeper loaned by Bayern is struggling at the start of the season. Known for his kicking game, Nbel once again put his team in danger following a relief controlled by Sotoca. He was certainly not helped by Pavlovic’s poorly adjusted back pass, but he was also guilty of a huge hand fault on the opening goal signed by Ganago.

Ruben Aguilar (5.5): already physically exhausted during his half-time interview, Aguilar held on and stepped up his efforts in the second half. Defensively, he held his right side rather well. Replace the 84th minute with Djibril Sidib (not rated).

Strahinja Pavlovic (1): a disaster. Pavlovic set the tone from the start of the match with a poorly adjusted back pass for Nbel, which led to the first straightforward situation in the game for Lensois. Subsequently, he put his brushes against Sotoca again, and he was very happy to see the referee whistle a fault, however not very obvious, from the striker, while Fofana spun on goal. And on the opening of the score of Ganago, he strangely left the ball to the first scorer of the day to allow him to present himself against Nbel … a priori, he should quickly find the sidelines.

Axel Disasi (5): a frustrating meeting for the Mongolian defender, who held the house rather well despite the errors of his colleague in central defense.

Caio Henrique (4): the Mongascian left lateral had a lot of trouble today. Whether offensively, with many missed crosses, but also defensively, the image of this ball lost at the end of the match before the goal of the break signed Banza.

Sofiane Diop (4): this time, Diop missed out on his match. Attractive since the start of the season, the attacking midfielder has not found the solution facing the imposing Fofana. The Mongasque will have to strengthen himself on the physical level if he hopes to be able to face such adversaries. And he will also have to work on the finish, he who could have concluded just before the break despite a good return from Danso. Replace the 76th minute with Cesc Fabregas (not rated).

Aurlien Tchouamni (4): also foamed by the sequence of matches, Tchouamni did not have his usual influence in midfield. Replace the 63rd minute with Gelson Martins (not rated), who did his best to bring danger into the opponent’s box.

Jean Lucas (5): author of a fairly discreet first period, Jean Lucas woke up before the break with a love of the ball for Diop, well taken in the area by Danso. In the second half, he tried to bring the danger into the opposing box by all means, but his passes found the defenders of Lens, and his strikes the gloves of Leca.

Krepin Diatta (4): some differences on the left side, but too much vagueness in the last gesture or the last pass. Diatta, however, stood out in the second half by eliciting Doucour’s red card, but he was replaced in the crowd in the 64th minute by Myron Boadu (not rated).

Aleksandr Golovin (3): a day without for the Russian, who has rarely managed to find Ben Yedder. Golovin had the opportunity to match his attackers, but he was sorely lacking in precision in the last pass.

Wissam Ben Yedder (3): a ghost, or almost. Ben Yedder tried to exist through deviations and discounts, but he was never found in the right tempo by his teammates. A match forget for him. Replace the 63rd minute with Kevin Volland (not rated), who struggled to get into his match.
