Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that two more mass graves with hundreds of victims were discovered in the city of Izium in northeastern Ukraine. He has denied the connections until now. At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities only last week completed the exhumation of the bodies of 436 people from the mass burial grounds in Izium. Officials there said most of the exhumed bodies bore signs of violent death. According to preliminary indications, 30 of the victims found were subjected to torture. In the said interview, the Ukrainian president also called on the West to continue to pressure Russia through sanctions. “These sanctions they will have political as well as financial impact,” said Zelensky.
