Colombia will begin to vaccinate young people between 15 and 19 years old against covid-19

(Cnn in Spanish) — The Minister of Health of Colombia, Fernando Ruiz, reported this Thursday through his verified Twitter account that vaccination against covid-19 is open for young people between 15 and 19 years old.

Vaccination for people in this age range will begin on August 21.

Similarly, the Ministry of Health reported the arrival of 163,200 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines that will be distributed in various cities of the country and are destined to be the first dose for the priority population.

The ministry also reported that Colombia has so far received six million vaccines donated by the United States, from the pharmaceutical companies Moderna and Johnson & Johnson.

So far, Colombia registers 4,880,516 confirmed cases of covid-19 and 123,901 people have died since the start of the pandemic.
