Garmin lands at IFA with its new off-road smartwatch, Venu Sq 2 – Zonamovilidad

In the Venu Music Edition version, songs and playlists, including those from Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer, move to its internal memory so that people can listen to them without having to use their smartphone. For this to be possible, they have to pair the watch with a Bluetooth headset. This is the new version of the Venu Sq smartwatch that has an attractive, comfortable and lightweight finish. In addition, it offers a wide variety of functions that adapt to all people. Its design is rectangular and it is equipped with a 1.4-inch AMOLED touch screen with a Corning Gorilla Glass surface. Surrounding it is a lightweight aluminum bezel, and its case is joined by an interchangeable silicone strap. Health control and sports On the other hand, Garmin’s new smartwatch focuses on people’s well-being. For this reason, it includes a set of functions that allow physiological control to be carried out in detail, with the Elevate heart rate sensor being in charge of monitoring the heartbeat several times per second during the 24 hours of the day. In turn, it is aware of possible anomalies in the heart rate when you are at rest, sending an alert whether it is low or high. A quite attractive aspect of this watch is that it offers a better visualization of how the body recovers through sleep tracking through the combination of information from multiple sensors to provide a comprehensive assessment of rest. The Pulse Ox function measures the oxygen saturation in the blood. The watch also calculates the different stages of sleep (light, deep and REM), in addition to measuring the number of breaths per minute. Following this line, another interesting function is the Body Battery monitor, which uses a combination of stress, heart rate variability (HRV), sleep and activity data to calculate the energy reserves of the body at any time, in a way that allows plan the day and optimize activity and rest times. In addition, Venu Sq 2 can provide a health summary by recording a two-minute session to record key metrics such as heart rate, heart rate variability, Pulse OX2 data, respiration, and stress. It is also possible to view a report with these statistics directly on the watch or through the Garmin Connect app. When developing this smart watch, Garmin has also taken into account the most athletic, for this reason, the new wearable has more than 25 preloaded sports both outdoor and indoor, including walking, running, tennis or biking, and preloaded cardio, strength, yoga, HIIT, and pilates workouts. Thanks to the Garmin Connect app, users can choose from dozens of ready-made workouts or create their own with more than 1,600 exercises and then download them directly to the watch. Additionally, “runners training for the next 5K, 10K or half marathon can have a personal running coach on their wrist with free Garmin Coach training plans that are tailored based on their goals and performance. Even after a workout, the smartwatch will continue to track steps, intensity minutes, calories burned, and more. Smart functions In parallel, the new smartwatch integrates several smart functions. One of the most interesting is that the people who wear the watch can be connected at all times. Users will be able to receive text messages, social media updates, emails and calendar reminders, as well as notification of incoming calls when the watch is paired with an Apple or Android smartphone. Android users can reply to text messages from the device itself. In terms of security, the new Venu Sq 2 integrates security and tracking features that provide peace of mind by sending the user’s real-time location to chosen emergency contacts when the user needs it. It is able to detect incidents such as falls or bumps during walks, runs or walks outdoors and automatically send a predefined message to emergency contacts. LiveTrack allows friends and family to track user activity in real time, increasing peace of mind during outdoor workouts and race days. Payments A very attractive novelty of the new wearable is that now people will be able to make payments from the smartwatch thanks to Garmin Pay’s contactless payment solution. Additionally, you can customize your watch by downloading apps, widgets, watch faces and more from the free Garmin Connect IQ app. It also integrates the option to upload your own photos and turn them into watch faces.
