He added that the Sportage and Ceed models produced in the first half of 2022 were most often intended for customers from traditional export markets such as Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Poland and France. “After starting the production of the fifth generation of the Sportage model, we focused on preparing the production of the product-improved crossover Kia XCeed. Its serial production began on Monday, August 8, after the end of the two-week plant-wide vacation,” Potoček said. The XCeed is the latest body version of the Ceed family, which has been produced at the plant in Teplička nad Váhom since 2019. “To date, more than 153,000 units have been produced in Slovakia. In the first half of this year, the XCeed accounted for approximately 40 percent of all Ceeds produced in Teplička nad Váhom By weight. It will be produced exclusively at the Kia Slovakia plant,” said the company’s spokesperson. He added that during the plant-wide vacation at the turn of July and August, planned maintenance was carried out in the production halls. “The replacement of forty robots in the welding shop was aimed at increasing efficiency and shortening welding time. In order to reduce the amount of physically demanding work and to increase the accuracy of sealant application, we installed new robots in the paint shop. Automation is deployed not only in the production process, but also in administration. During In recent years, several processes have been automated in order to create more space for new and creative tasks,” stated Potoček. In 2022, Kia Slovakia plans to reinvest more than 57 million euros, in total during its operation in Teplička nad Váhom, the company has already reinvested more than two billion euros, the company spokesperson concluded.
