“You I catch you, I will rape you, I will slaughter your family.” This message, a young girl living in Essonne claims on Twitter to have received several from a young man of 21 years. The scale of the reactions led to the placement in police custody on this last Saturday in Val-d’Oise, reports France Blue Paris Sunday August 15.

This message was accompanied by a video in which the young man shows a knife, says he is in his town and claims to have contacted his family. On Saturday, the 18-year-old victim posted a message on Twitter to denounce the threats. Social networks are racing. The post is shared over 28,000 times. It was even shared on Twitter by Minister Marlène Schiappa.

Young women testify to having suffered the same type of harassment from this 21-year-old man. Internet users search the digital life of the suspect, trying to get in touch with him. Some find his family’s address and make it public.

Others question the authorities, the police, Gérald Darmanin, the Minister of the Interior, Éric Dupont-Moretti, the Minister of Justice or even Marlène Schiappa. The national police take up the case and first hand the investigation over to Pharos, the government’s reporting platform.

Faced with the turn of events, the 21-year-old suspect finally surrendered himself to the police station where he was arrested, the Val-d’Oise police confirmed to France Bleu Paris. On Twitter the authorities ask not to interfere with the investigations.
