Pursuant to Section 363, the Attorney General lifted the accusation against NBS Governor Peter Kazimir, who was the Minister of Finance of Smer. Maroš Žilinka said that the first deputy, Jozef Kander, was handling the matter because he had been ill for a month. Robert Fico, the chairman of Smer, announced on recordings from the hunting lodge that this would happen. “Everyone has a general, he’ll give him a protective hand, I guess,” Fico said. He added that “Everyone is enough” because he is a direct witness to him. Kandera said at the General Prosecutor’s Office’s statement that in the case of Kažimír’s accusation, the law was violated and that only one direct witness, František Imrecze, testified against him. According to the accusation, as a “courier”, Kažimír handed over the envelope with a bribe of almost 50,000 euros. The decision of the special prosecutor Daniel Lipšic, who rejected Kažimír’s complaint against the accusation, shows that Lenka Wittenbergová, who ran the financial report in the past, also testified against Kažimír, and they also collected several documentary evidence. Like Imrecze, she admitted to corruption. Kander further said that there were contradictions in Imrecze’s statement, Lipsic evaluated it as only confirming Imrecze’s credibility.
