The Russians quarantine the Ukrainian city of Mariupol for a probable cholera epidemic. In an interview with Ukrainian television, the adviser to the Mariupol mayor said this, informs the BBC news portal. “We see the city closing,” Petro Andriushchenko told United News TV, adding that “inside the city, between the occupation authorities and their leadership, the word cholera is mentioned.” The BBC has failed to verify these allegations. Mariupol fell into the hands of the Russians in May, after months of constant bombing. Andriushchenko also warned of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the city, where there is a shortage of drinking water and food. He also said over the weekend that city residents must register to receive drinking water, which they can only receive every two days.
