Matovic on raising finances for education: Big plans! This will submit to the nearest government – New Time

The Minister of Finance Igor Matovič (OĽANO) will submit a proposal for a ten percent increase in salaries in education to the nearest government in one package, together with a proposal for taxation of gambling, alcohol, Russian oil and a regulated levy. He informed about it after Monday’s meeting with the chairman of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers in Slovakia (OZPŠaV) Pavel Ondek. According to Pavel Ondek, chairman of the OZPŠaV, the announced protest has not yet been revoked. “Nothing has been agreed yet,” he said. Should Matovic’s proposal for a salary increase pass with the required ten percent salary increase for education staff from July 1, the unions will demand a tripartite agreement. “The money is here if the government agrees that it wants to put it into education,” Ondek thinks. He pointed to increased state revenues due to inflation and higher prices. “Our demand was 100 million euros, but if the state decides on other matters regarding taxes, it is the decision of experts and politicians,” he said. Matovic also commented on the anti-inflation package approved by parliaments. According to the Minister of Finance, the President of the Slovak Republic, Zuzana Čaputová, will send him to the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic. “My information says that yes, it has long been decided that it will be filed with the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic,” he said. He assessed that this concerned, for example, legislation from the workshop of the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic, which, according to him, was submitted by “friend Kolíková”. The Minister of Finance told the head of state that he would very much like her to wear the jersey of the pro-family part of Slovakia. “I would like her to satisfy her election promise to be president of all,” he concluded.
