The “rebellious”, ecologists, socialists and communists gathered within the New Popular Ecological and Social Union (Nupes) detailed, Thursday, May 19, each of the 650 measures of their common program for the elections of 12 and 19 next June. Common proposals, the fruit of a “historic alliance”, according to Jean-Luc Mélenchon, which can be found in eight major thematic chapters: from “social progress” to “ecology, the sharing of wealth, public services , the Sixth Republic, security, the fight against discrimination” or even “the European Union”. Among the key measures detailed by the main officials of Nupes: “the increase of the minimum wage to 1,500 euros”, “a local police force equipped with sufficient human resources which meshes the entire national territory” or even “the extremely ambitious objective 65% reduction in greenhouse gases by 2030, beyond what the European Commission is proposing”. But “union is not fusion”, underlined the leader of La France Insoumise during this press conference, considering that this program describes a “central space” for the different political formations that make up Nupes. For Jean-Luc Mélenchon, of the “650 measures” of the “shared program” of Nupes, “there are 33 which are in nuances”. This represents “5% of the total” of the measures, he added in front of Julien Bayou and Olivier Faure, the bosses of Europe Ecologie-Les Verts and the Socialist Party.
