Why is the technical control of motorcycles imposed on October 1 against the advice of the government? – The Independent

The government has been slowing down for many months, France will not be able to escape the implementation of technical control for two-wheelers from October 1, 2022. It is the Council of State which has issued an opinion severe towards the government accused of having “neither renounced any technical control, contrary to what it had announced”, nor of having “implemented alternative security measures which could, under European law, justify to deviate from it”. The Council of State considers that “given the time necessary for the material implementation of the technical control, a postponement of entry into force, for the oldest vehicles, beyond October 1, 2022, is not justified”. This risk is lower in the States which have already put in place places the technical control (16 times in Germany, 17 times in Spain)”. Opposition to the introduction of this technical control for two-wheelers is very strong in the country. Numerous demonstrations have already been organized to oppose this measure.
