Attorney General Maroš Žilinka excluded Special Prosecutor Daniel Lipšic from proceedings and decisions in the case of the accused MP and Smer leader Robert Fico due to doubts about his impartiality. At the same time, he instructed the Deputy Special Prosecutor to act on behalf of the Attorney General in the exercise of his powers to request the National Council to give its consent to the detention of a Member.
