today 10:10 | The European Football Union (UEFA) has stopped Kjetil Knutsen, the helmsman of Bodö / Glimt, and Nun Santos, the goalie coach of AS Roma, by interim measures. As a result of the incident in the first quarter-final duel of the European Conference League, both will not be able to participate in European duels until the case is disciplined. Santos challenged the visitors’ central defense eagerly, producing a good chance 1 – 2 after an attack from the right. “The UEFA decision surprised and shocked us, we plan to appeal,” the DPA quoted an official statement from a Norwegian club whose coach said Santos had grabbed him by the throat and pushed him to the wall. “Such events force me to consider moving to another sport. I was really thinking about whether it was a good idea to stay in football,” the 53-year-old coach said at the margo of the incident. In the past few days, the two sides blamed each other for provoking the conflict, with Rome captain Lorenzo Pellegrini saying in an interview with Sky Sport Italia that Knutsen first verbally and later physically attacked their goalkeeping coach. A retaliation at the Olympic Stadium in Rome is scheduled for Thursday.
