What happened to their beloved relative in the hospital was described by the poor woman’s family. Agnieszka was in the first trimester of pregnancy when she had to be taken to hospital for worsening abdominal pain. It was adopted on December 21, 2021. “During her stay in the hospital, her condition worsened. She came there fully conscious, in good physical and mental condition, with gynecological problems.” said the family. Subsequently, however, they witnessed the young woman’s condition deteriorating through telephone contact. On December 23, one of the fruits finally died.

However, according to them, removal was not allowed because the law in Poland strictly prohibits it. The doctors thus waited for the other twin’s vital functions to stop spontaneously. “Agnieszka carried the dead baby on her stomach for another seven days,” said the afflicted family. The second twin did not die until a week later, on December 29, 2021. However, the doctors waited another two days to remove the dead fetuses and did not perform the operation until December 31. “However, it was not forgotten to inform the pastor in time to come to the ward and organize a funeral for the children,” the family remarked.

According to them, Agnieszka got sepsis. “When she was admitted to the hospital, the CRP examination showed 7 units, the day before she died it was 157.31 units,” they claim. The standard is 5. However, there is no information in the documentation about sepsis. Instead, according to the family, doctors said they suspected mad cow disease. “They suggested that Agnieszkin’s poor health was caused by an inappropriate diet rich in raw meat,” her loved ones said.

They also complained about communication problems and the fact that the hospital made it difficult for them to access the documentation because the patient allegedly did not issue a permit. At that time, however, the sick woman was already in such poor health that she was unable to do so.

Another unnecessary death of a young man

On January 23, one month after admission to the hospital, the patient had a cardiac arrest and subsequent resuscitation. However, according to the family, her subsequent condition indicated agony and her organs ceased to function. A transfer to another hospital followed. Only there did the family learn more about the condition of their loved ones. Unfortunately, they could no longer help the women and she died on January 25. “We are devastated and the pain that accompanies us is indescribable,” said the family, which also published a short video from the hospital capturing Agnieszka in very poor condition.

The whole case may still have its aftermath, as the family claims to have evidence that the hospital concealed the medical condition and provided false information. An investigation has already been launched in the event of the death of a young woman.

The hospital has its own version

Hospital spokesman Czestochowa confirmed that the woman was hospitalized with them in the gynecology and obstetrics department, first from 6 to 12 December and then from 21 December. “After the first child died on December 23, a wait-and-see attitude was taken, saying that there was a chance to save the second child. Despite doctors’ efforts, the second fetus died. It was immediately decided to end the pregnancy. quoted the official opinion of the Polish website wyborcza.pl.

The hospital also denied that waiting for an abortion after the death of the first fetus had other than medical reasons. Doctors are said to have performed several examinations and procedures to help the woman.

They also denied the family’s allegations of difficult contact with the patient and unformed her health. “We emphasize that the hospital staff has taken all possible and required steps to save the lives of the children and the patient,” said the spokesman.

In addition, the woman had signs of pulmonary embolism and inflammatory changes during hospitalization. It should also have tested positive on Covid-19.

An appeal that we do not end up similarly in Slovakia

The case also caused outrage in Slovakia. The chairwoman of the medical committee, Jana Bittó-Cigániková from SaS, said that Mr.The Polish ultra-conservative government is responsible for the life of another young woman. “It is beyond my ability to understand how such legislative atrocities can take place in one civilized country in the 21st century and that politicians in our country are happy to sign similar laws. And if they do not directly pass the ban on abortions, they are doing everything to complicate the situation of doctors performing legal medical procedures as much as possible and to create legal uncertainty for them, “ stated. She added that in the light of several similar tragic events in Poland, she wanted to appeal to her colleagues from parliament to stop fighting Slovak women and expel political capital from curbing abortions.

Simona Petrík from non-parliamentary Progressive Slovakia pointed out that despite the massive protests organized in Poland in 2020, the Polish Constitutional Court then ruled that it was unconstitutional to carry out an abortion due to serious fetal damage. This made de facto impossible for Polish women almost any abortion, as Poland already had very strict abortion legislation.

This is not the only case in Poland. Last year, the world circled that the medical staff refused the woman to perform an abortion procedure because, despite the fact that the condition of the fetus was not compatible with life, the doctors decided to wait until the fetus touched the heart. The woman died of septic shock shortly afterwards. The case was well received and crowds took to the streets, and the #anijednejwiecej initiative was launched. Unfortunately, it did not contribute to the change.
