Log4Shell flaw shakes the internet, but it inspires funny memes – Numerama

It will probably not have escaped you, a major flaw is currently shaking the web. Log4Shell, of its small name, allows to execute code remotely on a machine with a high degree of privilege, thanks to the exploitation of a bug in Log4J, a Java library widely used everywhere on the web.

It didn’t take long for vulnerable systems suffer their first ransomware attacks. But it’s not all a serious bug and collapse of the web, fortunately, Log4Shell also gave birth to funny memes (in addition to recalling the importance of free software).

A site to laugh about Log4J

The company specializing in cybersecurity Intrude, has in fact set up a site which lists all the more or less successful attempts at humor that Internet users have created around this cybersecurity disaster. Remember that an API is supposed to offer limited and controlled access to its platform. Not a way of bringing systems to their knees with a few well-felt commands.

It should be noted that not keeping a log is not really a good practice. Just like using the “System.Out” function which does not allow you to have more or less well organized and exploitable error logs.
