Still among LR sympathizers, 46% consider that Xavier Bertrand is close to the considerations of the French. In his political family, Michel Barnier is well ahead of Valérie Pécresse regarding his ability to manage a crisis (28% against 17%).

And apart from the LR ranks, the situation remains the same. In the general population, 44% of those questioned believe that Xavier Bertrand is in a position to win the election. Another observation: when we take the entire population, Michel Barnier remains ahead of Valérie Pécresse, even if the gap is smaller. Only 21% think he can win the presidential election against 20% for his political opponent. And these two candidates see their popularity evolve according to the age of the French. While 36% of those over 65 believe that Michel Barnier will know how to best manage a crisis, they are only 11% to think the same of the former French MP.

In addition, Michel Barnier is ahead of Valérie Pécresse (for the French and LR members) for “ability to unite the French” and the “ability to qualify the right and the center for the second round of the presidential election”.
