Slovak hockey player Boris Sádecký died at the age of 24. His club iClinic Bratislava Capitals informed about it in an official statement on Wednesday.

Sádecký collapsed in Friday’s match of the IHL transnational competition on the ice of the Austrian Dornbirn and was in serious condition. “With deep sorrow in our hearts and regret, we announce the death of our player Boris Sádecký. On Tuesday, October 26, Sádecký reached the hat-trick in the IHL home duo with Klagenfurt. On Friday, at the end of the first period at 1: 0 for Dornbirn, he collapsed and they had to provide him with medical care immediately. He was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

He grew up playing hockey in HK Dukla Trenčín, he also played for HC Slovan Bratislava in the multinational KHL. He represented Slovakia in the junior categories and scored one start in the A-team.
