In July Nova Eroica returns, on the Tuscan dirt roads also children participate

Nova Eroica returns to Val d’Arbia and returns to its ideal season. The fifth edition of Nova Eroica will take place as usual in Buonconvento, in the province of Siena, on 17 and 18 July, but above all with a program designed for cyclists of all types and ages. The formula is the one that has met with growing success so far: on Saturday 17th you ride in groups for long stretches, then the challenge starts in some sections of the route along which the chronometer will indicate the final classification. Sunday 18 July Nova Eroica will instead be dedicated to the family, and the protagonists will be mothers, fathers and above all youngsters and children: “The bicycle has always been a means that unites people – underlines Franco Rossi, president of Eroica Italia – at Nova Eroica we want give full meaning to this truth by understanding the feeling of family. The race with racing bicycles will take place on Saturday, while on Sunday there will be the pedaling of families with all types of bicycles, including pedal assisted bikes ”. Nova Eroica, the organization recalls, is a cycling race for gravel, cyclocross and road bicycles with a carbon, steel, titanium and aluminum frame. The bicycles must have the handlebars with the racing folds. Saturday 17 July different routes will be available; the individual time trial will be active on the longest course and the medium course. In detail, there will be three routes: 62 kilometers (Val d’Arbia), 85 kilometers (Crete Senesi) and 130 kilometers (Terra di Siena) respectively. The start for everyone will be given at 8.00. “Terra di Siena” route: the route for the most trained, develops 130 kilometers with a total altitude difference of 2330 meters. From Buonconvento you pass through the municipalities of Asciano, Monteroni D’Arbia, Murlo, Buonconvento, Montalcino, Pieve a Salti and again Buonconvento. There will be seven stretches of white road; Monte Sante Marie, San Martino in Grania, Monteroni D’Arbia, Bibbiano, Val di Cava, Lucignano D’Asso and Pieve a Salti. The individual classification will be drawn up on the basis of the times recorded in four different sectors. “Crete Senesi” route: it develops 85 kilometers with a total altitude difference of about 1500 meters. From Buonconvento you pass through the municipalities of Asciano, Monteroni D’Arbia, Murlo, Buonconvento. There will be four stretches of dirt road; Monte Sante Marie, San Martino in Grania, Monteroni D’Arbia, Pieve di Piana. The individual classification will be drawn up on the basis of the times recorded in two different sectors. “Cicloturistico” route: suitable for those who want to enjoy the view and the dirt road without the “thought” of the stopwatch. From Buonconvento you can reach Asciano, Monteroni D’Arbia, Murlo, Buonconvento. There will be three stretches of dirt road; Asciano, Monteroni D’Arbia, Pieve di Piana. The overall difference in altitude is 1030 meters. Sunday 18 July: cycle excursion on dirt roads for all families, an event designed also for the little ones who can make their own Heroic experience. It will be possible to participate with road, cyclocross, gravel and hybrid leisure bikes with carbon, steel, titanium and aluminum frames. Electric bicycles will be allowed. There are two routes available; respectively 27 and 14 kilometers. The shortest route goes from Buonconvento, in the locality of Piana, to Bibbiano on the dirt road and back on the paved road. The longest route involves passing through Monteroni d’Arbia. The Bike Village of Nova Eroica: Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 July Nova Eroica will live around and in the center of the “Bike Village” which will be set up next to the walls of Buonconvento, one of the “Most beautiful villages in Italy” whose name derives from the vocation of a stopping place for travelers, just a day’s journey from Siena on the ancient Via Cassia towards Rome. In the “Bike Village” it will be possible to visit the traveling exhibition of Eroica in the world, the heroic market and the reception area of ​​the Eroica sponsors. But above all at the Bike Village you will live in the atmosphere of a pedal festival with many exhibition and gastronomic stands, live music and meetings to experience the atmosphere of a great popular festival.
