The wrong plate has been replaced: now in Largo Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, in Rome, there is a plate with the correct name of the president emeritus. “I was notified this morning, I immediately gave the order to proceed with a new plate which in fact is already in its place”, said the mayor of Rome Virginia Raggi on the sidelines of a press conference in the Capitol. This morning the first town participated in the inauguration of Largo Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, but the plate is wrong. The ceremony took place on Lungotevere Aventino in the section below the Orange Garden, in the presence of the head of state Sergio Mattarella, his sons Claudio and Gabriella Ciampi and the mayor of Rome Virginia Raggi. The plaque, however, was not discovered because according to the official version it would have been chipped even if the transparent cloth clearly showed an error on Ciampi’s name: ‘Carlo Azelio Ciampi’ and not Azeglio.
