2021 administrative elections, over 12 million to vote

Administrative elections 2021, from today Sunday 3 October from 7 to 23, and until Monday 4 October from 7 to 15, electoral consultations will take place for the direct election of mayors and municipal councils as well as for the election of district councils. 1,192 Municipalities will vote, of which 19 provincial capitals, for a number of electors equal to 12,147,040. The possible round of ballot will be held on 17 and 18 October. These are the data contained in the dossier of the Interior Ministry on administrative elections. Read also The administrative electoral consultations scheduled for today and tomorrow will affect 1,192 municipalities (1,154 in the 15 regions with ordinary statute and 38 in the region with special statute of Friuli Venezia Giulia) for a number of voters equal to 12,147,040 distributed over 14,505 sections. In particular, 19 provincial capitals will go to the vote, of which 6 also regional capitals: Bologna, Milan, Naples, Rome, Turin and Trieste. The remaining 13 provincial capitals called for renewal are Benevento, Caserta, Cosenza, Grosseto, Isernia, Latina, Novara, Pordenone, Ravenna, Rimini, Salerno, Savona and Varese. On the same dates, the regional elections will take place in Calabria and the supplementary elections of the Chamber of Deputies respectively in the XII district of Tuscany (single-member constituency 12 – Siena) and in the district XV Lazio 1 (single-member constituency 11 – Rome – Quartiere Primavalle). Voting operations will take place in compliance with the operational and precautionary procedures referred to in the Health and Safety Protocol for the conduct of electoral consultations for the year 2021 adopted by the Ministers of the Interior and Health on 25 August 2021. CITY: WHO ARE THE ‘BIG’ CANDIDATES In particular, it is these ‘big’ candidates from the big cities to vote. In Rome there are candidates for the center-right Enrico Michetti, for the center-left Roberto Gualtieri, the outgoing mayor Virginia Raggi for the M5S and Carlo Calenda for Action. In Milan, the center-right candidate is Luca Bernardo, the outgoing mayor Beppe Sala for the center-left and Layla Pavone for the M5S. In Turin Paolo Damilano is deployed for the center-right, Stefano Lorusso for the center-left, while for the M5S the candidate is Valentina Sganga. In Naples Catello Maresca is the candidate of the center-right, for Pd and M5S the candidate is Gaetano Manfredi, also candidate Antonio Bassolino supported by 5 civic lists. Finally, in Bologna, the center-right supports Fabio Battistini, while for Pd and M5S the candidate is Matteo Lepore, Stefano Sermenghi is instead the candidate of Bfc and Italexit while Dora Palumbo runs for the United Left. CENTER LEFT AND 2 M5S In the 19 provincial capitals involved in voting today and tomorrow, the outgoing mayors are eight from the center-left and eight from the center-right, while two of the first citizens belong to the 5 Star Movement. The mayor of Latina, Damiano Coletta, won the last elections with his civic list Latina Bene Comune while this time he runs with the support of the center-left. The M5S governed in Rome with Virginia Raggi and in Turin with Chiara Appendino. Outgoing center-left mayors are Virginio Merola (Bologna), Carlo Marino (Caserta), Giuseppe Sala (Milan), Luigi De Magistris (Naples), Michele De Pascale (Ravenna), Andrea Gnassi (Rimini), Vincenzo Napoli (Salerno), Davide Galimberti (Varese). The outgoing center-right mayors governed in Benevento (Clemente Mastella), Grosseto (Antonfrancesco Vivarelli Colonna), Isernia (Giacomo D’Apollonio), Novara (Alessandro Canelli), Pordenone (Alessandro Ciriani), Trieste (Roberto Dipiazza), Savona (Ilaria Caprioglio) while in Cosenza, Mario Occhiuto, was supported by a center-right civic list. ALSO 15 MUNICIPALITIES DISSOLVED FOR MAFIA. These are Siderno, Careri, Delianuova, Palizzi and Stilo in the Reggio area, Casabona and Crucoli in the Crotone area, Arzano in the Neapolitan area, Cerignola in the Foggia area, while in Sicily urns open in San Biagio Platani (Agrigento), San Cataldo (Caltanissetta), Mistretta ( Messina), San Cipirello (Palermo), Vittoria (Ragusa) and Pachino (Syracuse). This is only a first round of elections for the commissariate administrations since a new ad hoc round has been fixed by decree of the Minister of the Interior Luciana Lamorgese for 7 November. The autumn shift of the administrative offices in the municipalities of the regions with ordinary statute dissolved due to mafia-type conditioning and infiltration phenomena will be held in seven institutions: Orta di Atella (Caserta), Manfredonia (Foggia), Carmiano (Lecce), Scanzano Jonico (Matera) , as well as Africo, San Giorgio Morgeto and Sinopoli, in the province of Reggio Calabria. The possible ballot round is already scheduled for Sunday 21 November 2021.
