A 14-year-old Italian living in the province of Varese died in a mountain accident in Ghirone, in the municipality of Blenio, in the Canton of Ticino. It happened today just before 12. The boy was hiking in the company of a group when he fell for about 100 meters. The 14-year-old fell overwhelmed another peer, also from the Varese province, who crashed a little further down. Another boy, a 14-year-old Swiss who was not part of the group, tried to rescue the two boys and fell too. On the spot, in addition to agents of the cantonal police, rescuers from Rega and Sas intervened who could only cost the 14-year-old’s death, while the other two young people were transported by helicopter to the hospital. Both young people injured are serious.
