‘Ndrangheta, maxi international operation: arrests in Italy, Germany and Spain

A judicial police operation called ‘Platinum-Dia’ against the ‘Ndrangheta, coordinated by the Turin District Prosecutor’s Office, is underway in Germany, Romania, Spain and throughout the country, involving over 200 women and men from the Management Antimafia Investigative and a hundred units of the State Police, the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza with the support of dog units, helicopters and soldiers of the Caserta Engineers Regiment, as well as 500 agents of the Baden-Wuttemberg Criminal Police, of the Economic and Financial Police of Ulm and of the Sek (G), of the Romanian and Spanish police. Furthermore, numerous searches were carried out both in Italy and abroad and assets for millions of euros were seized. The precautionary custody measures (issued by the Court of Turin at the request of the Piedmontese DDA and coordinated by the Dna), in Italy and Germany, concern people deemed to be affiliated with the ‘Ndrangheta, active in the’ local ‘of Volpiano (To).
