Covid today Emilia, 20,654 infections and 29 deaths: bulletin 21 January

There are 20,654 new infections from Coronavirus today, 21 January 2022 in Emilia Romagna, according to Covid-19 data in the latest bulletin of the Region. There have been 29 deaths since yesterday. In the last 24 hours, 79,424 swabs were processed, of which 48,533 rapid antigen tests. While there are 29 deaths. This is the data communicated to the Ministry of Health. Overall, the percentage of new positives on the number of tampons made is 26%. The average age of new positives today is 35.2 years. As regards the self-test service with a quick antigenic swab, at 3 pm today 3,628 swabs were carried out, the results of which were correctly uploaded online to the electronic health record. Of these, 2,419 tests, equal to approximately 67%, concern citizens who, having determined their positivity to the Sars-CoV-2 virus, will formally receive within 24 hours the communication of the initiation of the isolation period. After 7 days of isolation these people will be able to repeat the self-test and in case of negativity upload the result to the electronic health record and obtain the end of isolation certification within 24 hours. On the other hand, 1,209 are swabs with negative results. Patients currently hospitalized in intensive care in Emilia-Romagna are 145 (-7 compared to yesterday, equal to – 4.6%), the average age is 62 years. Of the total, 87 are not vaccinated (zero vaccine doses received, average age 61.5 years), 60%; 85 are vaccinated with a full cycle (mean age 62.8 years). A figure that must be related to the fact that there are almost 3.7 million people over 12 vaccinated with a full cycle in Emilia-Romagna, about 300 thousand vaccinable who have not yet done so: the percentage of unvaccinated people admitted to intensive care is therefore very higher than those who have been vaccinated. As for the patients hospitalized in the other Covid departments, there are 2,459 (-6 compared to yesterday, -0.2%), average age 69.9 years. The active cases, that is the actual patients, are 348,147 (-277). Of these, people in isolation at home, i.e. those with mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are symptom-free, total 345,543 (- 264), 99.2% of the total number of active cases. 20,902 more than yesterday and reach 533,095. In total, there have been 14,719 deaths in the region since the beginning of the epidemic, while the anti-Covid vaccination campaign continues. At 3 pm a total of 9,314,773 doses were administered; out of the total 3,672,400 people over 12 who have completed the vaccination cycle, 91.4%. The third doses made are 2,055,814.
