In Italy 1 out of 4 unexpected pregnancies, in 22nd place for contraception

In Italy, one in 4 pregnancies is unforeseen and 50% of unscheduled pregnancies result in a voluntary interruption, with a total burden on the National Health Service amounting to 90.6 million euros. And again: according to data from the European Atlas of Contraception drawn up by the European parliamentary forum for sexual & reproductive rights (Epf), Italy ranks 22nd in Europe for access and information to contraception: less than 16% of women in childbearing age she resorts to hormonal contraceptive methods.
