In Pesaro the 5th edition of the ‘Lonely Planet Ulissefest’, the travel party

The 5th edition of ‘Lonely Planet Ulissefest – La festa del viaggio’ (www.ulissefest.it) this year will take place from 15 to 17 July in Pesaro, just named Italian Capital of Culture 2024. ‘Ulissefest’, the first festival in the world dedicated to travel signed by Lonely Planet, it is organized by Edt which for over 30 years has been a partner for Italy of the publishing house of the famous travel guides founded by Tony and Maureen Wheeler. The leitmotif of this edition will be Listening to the Earth: knowing how to grasp the signals it transmits to us, learning to know it, respect it, love it, be aware of the impact and value that each of our journeys has on it, contribute to enhancing places, traditions and immerse yourself in the magic of its infinite diversity, also through the stories of the guests who will alternate on stage. And the theme of this edition is also expressed through the illustration of the Taiwanese artist Whooly Chen chosen as the poster of this edition where works of man and nature create a fantastic world. The Festival is divided into three intense days of meetings, readings, shows, concerts, films and workshops that will animate the historic center, starting from Piazza del Popolo and with a significant presence on the seafront, where there will be an opportunity to meet guests during the course of breakfasts, aperitifs and beach parties. As in the past, this year too writers and artists, photojournalists and journalists, bloggers, musicians and professional travelers will alternate on the stages of the ‘Ulissefest’, confirming the transversal nature of the issues related to travel capable of permeating all areas of culture. ‘Ulissefest’ wants to be an opportunity to reflect on the world, to go beyond our borders, not just geographical ones. Wars and pandemics, in these two terrible years, have changed not only the world of travel but also our lives and have forced us to reflect on how much travel is both a privilege and a fundamental element of our culture. And how limiting the lack of this freedom is when we are deprived of it. Perhaps the greatest deterrent to travel today is our fear, yet we continue to believe in the benefits of travel, in the contacts we develop, and in the fruits of knowledge we reap. ‘Ulissefest’ focuses on this experience and the thousand ways, through flavors, words, music, images in which it is possible to live it, intensify it, preserve it and transmit it. ‘Ulissefest’ focuses on this experience and the thousand ways, through flavors, words, music, images in which it is possible to live it, intensify it, preserve it and transmit it.
