Dilip Kumar, one of the earliest and most famous Indian film actors, died in Mumbai at the age of 98. A true legend, Kumar has starred in more than 65 films for nearly five decades, playing all kinds of roles. The actor, who was hospitalized on June 30, is left with his wife, Saira Banu, also a Bollywood actress. The couple had no children. Dilip Kulmar, whose real name was Yusuf Khan, debuted in 1944 in ‘Jwaar Bhata’, but it was the 1949 film, ‘Andaz’, that made him famous. His biographer, Lord Meghnad Desai, compares him to the great actors of the caliber of Marlon Brando and Marcello Mastroianni.
