Sky Tg24 Live in Florence – The challenges of the present

Two days of meetings, debates, panels, interviews, over fifty guests from the world of politics, economics, culture, industry, science, entertainment and a city that for one day turns into a large television set brought on the territory. These are the ingredients of Sky TG24 Live In Firenze, the second appointment with the format of the news channel that brings information to Italian squares and cities, to create comparison, commentary and debate with some of the most important Italian and international personalities. The event, organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Florence and the CR Firenze Foundation, which have made available some of the most evocative places in the city such as the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio and Villa Bardini, will start on Friday 25 June 2021 from 13.00 to 22.00 and then it will continue on Saturday 26 from 9 to 18.30, all live on all the TV and digital channels of Sky TG24. The theme will be ‘The challenges of the present’, to understand, deepen and tell the Italy that is starting again, Europe of the Next Generation EU plan and the post Covid world. On the day when the Digital News Report 2021, produced by the Reuters Institute in collaboration with the University of Oxford, once again confirms Sky TG24 as the most reliable news channel for Italian users (in second place overall among all the newspapers ), Sky TG24 announces the complete program of its event. THE CHALLENGES OF THE PRESENT On the occasion of the event, Sky TG24 will also disseminate the results of a research by the Quorum Youtrend institute, to understand what Italians think about the next challenges that the world and Italy will have to face in the post-pandemic, on topics such as economy, health, environment and sustainability, immigration, terrorism. In particular, the climate crisis will be deepened, a phenomenon that will have great impacts on our future and that will be at the center of COP26, the United Nations conference that will decide what the world should do for the climate in the next decade, which will be held in Glasgow in November and of which the Sky group is Principal Partner and Media Partner. The survey will measure what Italians know about this topic and how ready they are to change their habits to counter this dangerous phenomenon. THE COMPLETE PROGRAM OF THE TWO DAYS It starts on Friday 25 June at 13.00 with a live news from Florence, followed by an introduction by the director of Sky TG24 Giuseppe De Bellis and the presentation of the results of the survey. From 7.00 pm special episode of “The numbers of the pandemic” with Franco Locatelli and the director of the ECDC Andrea Ammon, while at 19.30 there will be a special episode of “Sky TG24 Mondo” with the writer Lawrence Wright. At 20.35 face to face with the new leader of the M5S and former premier Giuseppe Conte. At 9.00 pm a live performance by the singer-songwriter Levante will close on the first day of the festival. Saturday 26 June the event resumes at 9.00 with a panel on political communication with the spokesman of the President of the Republic Giovanni Grasso and the spokesman of the Constitutional Court Donatella Stasio. Following at 9.35 a panel dedicated to sustainability, with the Minister of Ecological Transition Roberto Cingolani, the philosopher Luciano Floridi and the head of sustainability and communication of Sky Italia Sarah Varetto. At 10.15 am Enel CEO Francesco Starace and scientist Stefano Pogutz will discuss the challenges of green energy.
