Acea launches Mia, the Immersive Museum

Acea today launched Mia, the Acea Immersive Museum. It will allow visitors – reads a note from the group – to retrace, thanks to a dedicated portal, the more than 110 years of history of the company and, in parallel, of the city of Rome. The project was presented today in the presence of the CEO of Acea Giuseppe Gola, of Maria Vittoria Marini Clarelli, Superintendent of Cultural Heritage of Rome Capital, and of the Councilor for Cultural Growth of Rome Capital Lorenza Fruci. The introduction, on the other hand, was entrusted to the Director of Il Messaggero, Massimo Martinelli, representing the newspaper which – recalls Acea – in constantly recounting the changes in the city, inevitably accompanied those of multiuylity as well. To host the press conference, the Montemartini power plant, a symbolic place in the history of Acea and the evolution of the capital, which entered service on 30 June 1912, starting the production and distribution of electricity in Rome by the municipal company. From Nathan and Montemartini to today, with photographs, films, floor plans, graphics, 3D images and the reproduction of paper documents and artefacts, the virtual path of the MIA aims to tell the visitor about the evolution of Acea and of the Capital. The immersive museum was born thanks to an important redevelopment and digitization of the company’s historical documentary heritage: over 35,000 photographs, almost 500 records of minutes and resolutions, thousands of technical documents. The 14,000 volumes of the company library and about 80 historical films are also part of the Acea historical archive. A total of approximately 2,476 linear meters of documentation. By browsing the platform – explains Acea – in addition to accessing the virtual exhibition consisting of 12 rooms, it will also be possible to consult the unpublished archival heritage through thematic photo galleries and enter a Digital “Conference Center” where you can follow the cultural events that will be carried out by the company. The new portal is active from today and can be reached at the address (https://www.museodigitale.gruppo.acea.it/).
