Lidl, 60 million investment and 200 jobs in the new regional management of Carmagnola (TO)

Inaugurated in Carmagnola (TO) the new regional management of Lidl Italia, a large-scale distribution chain with over 680 points of sale throughout the country. The structure, built thanks to an investment in the territory of over 60 million euros, houses the executive offices and the eleventh Lidl logistics center in Italy. A project of great importance which, in addition to generating significant inducements in Piedmont and in particular in the province of Turin, has contributed to the creation of over 200 new jobs for a total staff of over 300 professionals. The creation of the new structure stems from the need of Lidl Italia to cope with the continuous expansion on the territory and allows to coordinate the two logistic centers: the one integrated in the regional management of Carmagnola and the historic one of Volpiano, which supply approximately 100 total points of sale located. in Piedmont, Lombardy, Liguria and Valle d’Aosta. The new logistics platform also meets the latest green building standards. The building is in fact powered with energy from 100% renewable sources and has a system for the recovery of rainwater and heat. A 1,740 kW photovoltaic panel is able to cover 40% of the centre’s energy needs, the equivalent of the energy used each year by 800 homes.
