In May 2022, compared to the previous month, the number of employed and unemployed decreased and the number of inactive people increased. Employment decreased (-0.2%, equal to -49 thousand) for both sexes, for permanent employees and people aged between 25 and 49; on the other hand, it increases for the self-employed, temporary employees, under-25s and over-50s. The employment rate drops to 59.8% (-0.1 points). This was announced by Istat.
