It is called Hyper Cloud Data Center, it will be the largest campus data center in Rome and will be ready by the first quarter of 2023. The announcement is made by Aruba, the main Italian cloud provider and leader in data center services, web hosting, e-mail, Pec and domain registration, during Namex 2022, the annual event organized by the most important Internet Exchange Point in central Italy. From the setting of Villa Miani, Alessandro Bruschini – Infrastructure Manager of Aruba – described the process that led Aruba to the design and construction of the most technologically advanced network data center in Italy, with the aim of supporting the digital transformation of companies and Public Administrations and, at the same time, respect the prerogatives of sustainability, safety and resilience of infrastructures. In a fully-owned 74,000 m2 area, fully operational Hyper Cloud Data Center (IT4) will include 5 independent data center buildings of 6 MW each, for a total of 30 MW of IT power and a 2N or higher redundancy level and connections 100 Gbit / s backbone between Aruba Data Centers and the main Neutral Access Points. A twofold objective: to respond to the needs of the private sector and the Public Administration, offering them customized technological solutions of a hyperscale level, and to better serve Central and Southern Italy, in line with the provisions of the PNRR which is allocating 40% of Available funds Like all the Data Centers in the network, Hyper Cloud Data Center will also respect the highest levels of infrastructural quality, exploiting the best solutions to minimize environmental impact. The Campus will be completely ecological thanks to the use of energy produced 100% from renewable sources, certified at European level through a Guarantee of Origin (GO Certification) and self-produced on site thanks to the presence of photovoltaic systems and the use of cooling systems. optimized efficiency (free-cooling). Hyper Cloud Data Center will be built in the Tecnopolo Tiburtino area (East Rome) within an area where numerous other innovative companies are already involved and – together with the other structures of the Aruba network – will allow the design and activation of Highly efficient Trust Services, Cloud and Data Center, guaranteeing both operational continuity and the activation of Disaster Recovery solutions. Each customer will have the opportunity to decide where to place their primary or secondary infrastructure given the interconnection of the structures and the presence of other proprietary Data Centers throughout the country, choosing between colocation, cloud or hybrid solutions. The technological Campus, in fact, joins the others in the Aruba European network which includes Global Cloud Data Center – the data center campus in Ponte San Pietro (Bg), the two Data Centers in Arezzo, the Data Center in Ktiš (Czech Republic ) and other partner structures in Germany, France, England, the Czech Republic and Poland. “Using technology to improve sustainability is a priority for the entire ICT sector. The works of the new Roman technological hub are proceeding in this direction, with the aim to consolidate our position as an enterprise-level IT service provider and design the most modern and environmentally friendly data center network in Italy, “commented Alessandro Bruschini, Head of Infrastructure at Aruba. “Hyper Cloud Data Center will work in close synergy with the entire Aruba data center network, expanding our presence on the national territory and, specifically, also overseeing central and southern Italy, acting as a preferential interlocutor for central PA, companies and Local authorities “added the manager.
