New Nissan Juke presented with brand new hybrid engine

Twelve years ago Nissan wrote the history of compact crossovers making them a real status, today Juke Hybrid continues its success by adding a new hybrid powertrain capable of providing high performance with absolutely reduced emissions and consumption. “Today Nissan presents the hybrid version of the Juke which externally highlights important innovations in terms of style such as the new logo placed on the outside on the new grille and the wheels that are more important for the benefit of consumption”, underlines the Director of Communications of Nissan Italy Luisa Di Vita. “2022 will be a very important year for Nissan because we plan to launch 5 new models. In addition to the Juke, the Ariya SUV will arrive, the first electric of the new generation, followed by the top version of the Qashqai, the one with the highly anticipated hybrid system and -Power, while at the end of the year we will see the new fourth generation X-Trail and finally the anticipated Nissan Townstar compact commercial vehicle that will inaugurate the new generation of Nissan LCVs “. Starting from the heart that moves the car, JUKE’s hybrid engine is made up of a new generation Nissan internal combustion engine specially developed to run on hybrid engines, delivering 69 kW (94 hp) and 148 Nm of torque. In combination with the traditional powertrain, Nissan has created an all-new electric powertrain that delivers 36kW (49hp) and 205Nm torque. The electric motor features a 15kW high voltage starter / generator, a cooled battery. 1.2 kWh water and a highly innovative gearbox. The result is an engine that delivers 25% more power than the current petrol engine, with fuel consumption reduced by up to 40% in the urban cycle and up to 20% in the combined cycle. Of fundamental importance for driving pleasure is the advanced low-friction multi-mode gearbox that allows you to make the most of the propulsive power of the gasoline or electric engine or both. With the new Juke the driver can enjoy an experience almost at 100% electric because the Juke Hybrid’s intelligent driving system manages the engine according to different parameters, with the aim of maximizing driving in zero-emission mode. During the tests, Nissan’s engineers achieved an excellent result as it emerged that urban driving was up to 80% in electric mode, with short hybrid phases due solely to recharge the battery, before returning to Ev mode. . Juke Hybrid not only always starts in 100% electric mode, but can also keep it up to a speed of 55 km / h, very useful on city journeys.Like the Nissan Leaf, the new Juke features the e-Pedal Step system which, when activated, it allows you to control the advancement and deceleration of the car, using only the accelerator pedal. When you take your foot off the accelerator, moderate braking is activated which causes Juke to decelerate to a minimum speed̀ of around 5km / h. To bring the vehicle to a complete stop, it is always necessary to use the brake pedal. This system is especially useful in city traffic, especially when the Auto Hold function is also activated, which keeps the car stationary at traffic lights without using the brake. In addition to using the convenient e-Pedal system, the Nissan Juke also features efficient regenerative braking which aims to capture kinetic energy and transform it into electricitỳ to be stored in the battery for hybrid propulsion. Juke Hybrid also features a selector that allows you to choose between various driving modes: Eco, Normal or Sport. Depending on how you want to set up the driving, the driver will notice a change in the driving mode linked to the stiffness of the steering, the functioning of the climate control and the throttle response, but also the behavior of the regenerative braking. Internally Nissan has embellished the passenger compartment both as a material used and as a technology present, in fact once seated on board you can see the right quadrant where the speed is displayed and in the left one instead we find the power indicator, with the needle that moves between “charge”, when energy regeneration is in progress, “eco”, when the propulsion is electric, and “power”, when the thermal engine and electric motor are combined. The 7 “central display located between the two quadrants shows a visual representation of the power flow: the energy flows are represented with a simple and clear animation that allows the driver to perfectly understand how the system works. Juke Hybrid is also a car roomy and suitable for travel thanks above all to its large trunk which normally has a capacity of 354 liters, with a small reduction of 68 liters compared to the petrol version, due to the size of the 1.2 kWh battery. The rear seats, however, can be folded down, increasing the trunk up to 1,237 liters. Important on the Juke is the presence of a strong range of connectivity services thanks above all to the presence of the Nissan App with which it is possible to check the main parameters of the car, from checking the tires to checking if the car is closed correctly or if we have forgotten the headlights on. Also through the App we can check the health of the Juke by checking how many kilometers are left until the next service or limit the speed of the car when we find the new driver at the wheel, all with the aim of simplifying everyday life.
