Pipeline & Gas Expo kicks off in Piacenza

The second edition of the Pipeline & Gas Expo (Pge), the exhibition-conference (Pavilion One) entirely dedicated to the ‘Mid-Stream’ and distribution networks of the ‘ Oil & Gas’, but also water, and the first edition of the Hydrogen expo (Pavilion Two), the event aimed at the technological sector for the development of the hydrogen supply chain. The inauguration of the two events, scheduled from 8 to 10 June 2022, will be attended by the mayor of Piacenza, Patrizia Barbieri, Luca Groppi, director of Confindustria Piacenza, Fabio Potestà, director of Mediapoint & exhibitions, the organizing company of the two events and Giuseppe Cavalli, president of Piacenza Expo, which hosts both events. With 200 confirmed exhibitors, the two exhibitions-conferences were deliberately conceived by Mediapoint & Exhibitions on the same days and in adjacent spaces to encourage the creation of a production network, that is, to offer a ground for meeting and synergistic exchange between producers and operators from around the world. ‘Oil, Gas & Water’ (with Pipeline & Gas Expo) and the protagonists of the hydrogen supply chain (with Hydrogen Expo). The Pipeline & gas Expo brings together the companies involved in the design, construction and maintenance of gas pipelines, oil pipelines and aqueducts, but also gas distribution networks (primary and secondary) and water and the related suppliers of plants, machines, equipment and materials. Hydrogen Expo, despite being in its first edition, immediately established itself as a privileged stage for the entire hydrogen supply chain, the main interlocutor for those ‘energy-intensive’ industries, now penalized by the international situation, which can be found in hydrogen technology an answer to their needs. A combination with great prospects from the point of view of the environmental challenge, but which, in order to express its full potential, needs direct dialogue with the institutions. Which in fact will play a leading role in the three days of Piacenza. Not surprisingly, both Pge and Hydrogen Expo enjoy the patronage, among others, of three ministries (ministry of Labor and Social Policies, ministry of Infrastructures and Sustainable Mobility and ministry of Ecological Transition), Enea and that of of the Conference of the Regions and Autonomous Provinces, the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Municipality of Piacenza. A networking that will find natural moments of reflection and comparison in the dense schedule of meetings and conferences that run alongside the two Piacenza kermesse. The conference “The combustion of hydrogen in the industrial sector. The challenges to be faced and the opportunities for the supply chain ”, organized in collaboration by the associations Anie, Anima, Animp, H2It, Oice. The speakers, including Federico Bonzani, Responsible R&D of Ansaldo Energia and Andrea Gusmaroli, coordinator of the Anima Energia activities on hydrogen, will address the issue of how hydrogen can represent an important alternative for the decarbonisation of industrial processes that require high temperatures, today difficult to electrify. Through a comparison between technology suppliers and end users, the conference aims to investigate the opportunities that are emerging, the technical barriers that still remain to the use of hydrogen in the industrial sector and the possible solutions to overcome them. “Energy and water systems increasingly integrated to achieve the highest degree of efficiency”, is the title of the conference that will open the works of the Pipeline & Gas Expo, among the speakers: Claudia Snels, Enea Smart Energy, Marcello Bondesan, Hera Group, Maurizio Scaccabarozzi, A2A Smart City, Vincenzo Quintani, Landis + Gyr, Lorenzo Giudice, Microsoft, Vincenzo Severino, Atlantica and Claudio De Paoli, Bip. Also tomorrow evening, 8 June, to coincide with the inauguration of the two events, the gala dinner reserved for the participants of the two events will be held at the beautiful Sala degli Arazzi of the Alberoni Gallery in Piacenza, which will give the exhibitors the opportunity to do ” networking ”in a convivial and relaxed atmosphere.
